The right securement accessory depends on the type of piece you wear, the construction of the base, your biological hair, your comfort needs, and how you prefer to wear your wig or topper. This guide will help you understand which options are designed for which pieces.
Wigs, toppers, BandFalls, HatFalls, lace tops, and silk tops may each need different securement support.
Scalp sensitivity, biological hair, clip comfort, and daily wear can all affect which option feels best.

Securement accessories are not one-size-fits-all. The best option depends first on whether you wear a full wig, lace top wig, topper, lace topper, BandFall, or HatFall.
Full Wig Securement
Full wigs are often supported with WiGrips, GripCaps, or Lace GripCaps depending on the cap construction, scalp comfort, biological hair, and how the wig is worn.
Lace-Compatible Support
Lace top wigs need securement options designed to work with lace areas. Lace WiGrips and Lace GripCaps may be better suited when lace compatibility is important.
Topper Securement
Toppers are designed to blend with biological hair, so securement depends on topper size, base construction, clip placement, and comfort needs.
Lace TopGrip Support
Lace toppers may need a Lace TopGrip instead of a standard TopGrip, especially when the topper is larger or the construction needs lace-specific support.
Support for BandFalls
BandFalls can use a WiGrip for added comfort and security, depending on how the piece is worn and how much additional support is needed.
Check the HatFall Style
Milano HatFalls are designed with WiGrip support built in. Some non-Milano HatFalls or other hatfall styles may need separate securement support.

The most secure option is not always the best option for every piece. Start with the type of wig or topper you wear, then consider comfort, biological hair, scalp sensitivity, clip placement, and daily wear needs.
Wig Securement Options
Wig securement accessories are designed to support comfort, stability, and confidence while wearing a full wig. The best option depends on the wig construction, whether the wig has lace areas, your biological hair, and how much scalp coverage or softness you prefer.
WiGrip
WiGrip is designed to add secure, comfortable support under full wigs, BandFalls, and some HatFalls that do not already have WiGrip built into the design. It can be helpful when you want added grip without clips, combs, tape, or glue.
GripCap
Lace WiGrip is designed for lace top wigs when lace compatibility matters. It offers support while allowing the lace area to sit more naturally than a standard WiGrip may allow.
GripCap
GripCap is designed for clients who prefer a soft barrier between the scalp or biological hair and the wig cap. It can be helpful for full scalp coverage, long biological hair, scalp sensitivity, or clients going through chemotherapy.
Lace GripCap
Lace GripCap is designed for lace top wigs when you want the soft barrier of a GripCap with lace-compatible support. This may be a better option for lace top wig wearers who prefer more scalp coverage and comfort.
Milano HatFalls already include WiGrip support
Milano HatFalls are designed with WiGrip support built in, so a separate WiGrip is not usually needed for Milano HatFalls. If you are wearing a non-Milano HatFall or another hatfall style, securement needs may vary.
Topper Securement Options
Topper securement depends on the topper’s base size, construction, clip placement, biological hair, and comfort needs. TopGrips are designed to help support toppers without relying only on the clips attached to the topper.
Lace TopGrip
Lace TopGrip is designed for lace toppers that are approximately 9" wide or larger. It offers securement support for larger lace topper bases while helping the topper sit more comfortably.
Small TopGrip
Small TopGrip is generally best for smaller toppers that are approximately 5" wide or smaller. This can be helpful when the topper needs added support without using a larger securement band.
Medium TopGrip
Medium TopGrip is generally best for medium toppers that are approximately 7"–8" wide. This size works well for many mid-sized topper bases that need added comfort and stability.
Large TopGrip
Large TopGrip is generally best for larger silk top toppers that are approximately 9" wide or larger. This option is based on topper size and construction, not the client’s head size.

In some cases, topper clips may need to be moved or adjusted for the topper to sit properly in a TopGrip. If you are unsure which TopGrip matches your topper, contact Milano before purchasing.
Built-In Security
Many wigs and toppers already include built-in securement features such as clips, combs, adjustable straps, or grip support. If something feels uncomfortable or not secure enough, the best next step may be an adjustment rather than adding the wrong accessory.
Snap Clips
Snap clips are commonly used in toppers and some wig designs to help attach the piece to biological hair. If clips feel uncomfortable, pull too tightly, or do not sit in the right place, our team can review whether clip placement or replacement may help.
Combs
Combs may be used in some wigs to help add stability. Comfort can vary depending on biological hair, scalp sensitivity, and how the wig is worn, so combs are not the right choice for every client.

Milano HatFalls are designed with WiGrip support built in. This means a separate WiGrip is not usually needed for Milano HatFalls, though securement needs may vary for non-Milano HatFalls or other hatfall styles.
Comfort & Security Adjustments
If your wig or topper feels too tight, too loose, uncomfortable, or difficult to secure, Milano can help review possible adjustments. This may include clip placement, clip replacement, comb removal, added support, or other service options depending on the piece.

Additional support may be helpful when your piece feels less stable, clips feel uncomfortable, or you want a more secure wearing experience.
Comfort and security are personal. The right option is not always the strongest option — it is the option that works best with your piece, your scalp or biological hair, and the way you wear your wig or topper.
Tape, Glue & Adhesives
Milano does not currently sell tapes or glues. If you are considering adhesive securement, we recommend working with a professional who can help determine whether adhesive is appropriate for your piece, skin, scalp, hair loss, and wearing routine.
Adhesive securement can depend on the construction of the wig or topper, how the piece is applied and removed, skin sensitivity, product buildup, and how often the piece is worn.
Not every wig or topper is meant to be secured with adhesive. Before using tape, glue, or bonding products, contact Milano or a qualified professional so you can avoid unnecessary damage to the piece, irritation to the skin, or a securement method that does not match your needs.
