What does a Precut mean?

Do You Make Curly Wigs?

Yes Milano specializes in creating your dream look. Curly wigs are special ordered and may take up to 3 months to arrive. All you would have to do is email cs@mcwigs.com a photo of the curl pattern you are looking for us to create.

Should I have more than one wig?
arrow-icon

Yes, if you wear your wig daily we do recommend owning a minimum of two. Owning two or more wigs will increase the life span of each wig because it reduces the wear and tear of daily use. You will be able to wear multiple styles without adding extra strain to the hair as well as have a back up wig if you ever need to send one in for alterations, color or styling.

Can you make two wigs exactly the same?

No, wigs can be similar in nature but can not be exactly the same. It can take four to five heads of hair to make one wig and because hair is a natural element there are variations in both texture and color. We match the hair types as closely as we can to create similar looks.

Can you make a wig exactly like my hair?

No, because hair has a different genetic make-up we are unable to make the exact replica. What we can do is match similar textures and colors to achieve a very similar look. At Milano we strive to help our customers achieve the look they are going for regardless of the nature of their bio-hair. An incredible advantage of wearing wigs/toppers is that you can wear any look you want.

How "Wavy" is your wavy hair texture?

There are a lot of variations of wavy hair and the wavy hair texture often varies from piece to piece and does have different results in the Premium Processed and Virgin European hair.

In Virgin European hair the wavy texture can look more natural because the hair has not been colored.

In Premium Processed hair the wavy texture will need to be wash and air dried to see the true wave pattern. It is best to wash the wig and air dry the wavy hair to determine the true wave pattern. Lighter Premium Process hair is not available in wavy hair textures due to the damage it may cause to the treated hair.

One of the benefits to getting the wavy hair texture is that when styled the wavy texture does hold the style longer than the straight texture. You may not need to retouch the styling as often as with the straight texture.

What is the price range of your wigs?

Our wigs start at $700 for short and do increase from there. The price does increase due to the hair type, desired overall length and cap construction options.

How do I reschedule an appointment?

you should be able to reschedule your appointment with the email confirmation that you received when making the appointment. If you can't find or did not receive an email confirmation please contact cs@mcwigs.com or call customer service at 562.426.2971 and they will be able to assist you.

I would like to open a wholesale account, is that something that you offer?

Yes, we do offer wholesale accounts to resellers who qualify. Please inquire with an email to sales@mcwigs.com. To open a wholesale account you must be a licensed cosmetologist, or have a retail hair replacement business.

What’s the difference between a wig and a topper?

A wig covers the whole head, while a topper provides coverage for the top portion of your head and blends with your natural hair. For more information on wigs vs. toppers click here.

How do I choose the right type of wig for me?

Choosing your wig is a very personal experience based on your hair goals, preferences, and lifestyle. We are here to guide you in your journey and encourage you to schedule a virtual consultation or visit one of our showrooms.

How do I care for my wig?

When not wearing your wig, place it on a mannequin head. Make sure your mannequin head is not stored in direct sunlight. When washing your wig use a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner. When applying heat use a heat protectant before styling. Use the Milano Gentle Brush from the ends upwards to remove any tangles. To avoid shedding, do not use conditioners and oils directly on the wig cap. Longer styles do need to be brushed at the nape of your wig daily to remove any tangles. How do I choose the right wig size?

Milano offers different size cap options. Please visit our size chart to see our standard cap sizes. We have a professional alterations team that can further adjust your cap size if needed.

What is a Wig Grip and why would I need one?

A Wig Grip is a comfort band that secures your wig in place without clips, combs or adhesives. It alleviates headaches, tension and bald spots or thinning hair caused by clips, combs or adhesives.

How do I avoid paying the duty fee?

The value of the exchange or repairs will be minimal if the order is only an exchange or repair. However, all orders must be valued and insured for the invoiced amount.

How do I know if the item that I want to order is a stock item or a special order?

Milano has a variety of options in stock but sometimes there are options that need to be made in a specific way that does make the item into a special order. Custom cap sizes, hand tied caps, changes to standard density, and lengths are configurations that may require a special order.

Once the order is processed a customer service representative will notify you of the need to place a special order. At that time the representative will advise you of any suitable in stock options that might work. If the suggestions will not work, a special order may be placed.

What if the item I ordered is not in stock?

Should the item that you ordered be oversold, a customer service representative will contact you with available options that might work for you. If the options are not what you are looking for we can reserve the next available piece for you. Milano's customer service team will reach out to you with an available estimated arrival date.

Can I have my wig changed to a left part with a side bang?

Most styles can be changed by applying water and blow drying it to the desired side.

Where can i see pictures of the different types of bangs?

Milano Collection can cut bangs in any style or length. When a client requests a bang cut Milano will email the client requesting a picture of how they would like the bang cut. This assures accuracy in the style of the bang.

Can I do a reverse balayage with the platinum rooted wig?
arrow-icon

Yes. You can do a reverse balayage with all our wigs. A reverse balayage adds a darker rooted effect to the top as well as a darker lowlighting effect going down. There are different looks and effects that a reverse balayage can achieve. We personalize all reverse balayage according to the client's inspiration picture.

What color do you suggest for the rooting?

When it comes to rootings we recommend your natural hair color. This would give a natural effect and compliment your natural look.

Can i change the layers from nose to chin face framing?

What is the difference between a partial rooting and full rooting?
arrow-icon

A partial rooting adds a darker dimension only to the top area. A full rooting adds a darker dimension underneath going all the way down. A full rooting includes the whole wig while a partial rooting is only the top.

Does your ponytail wig come already rooted?

Many colors come already rooted. Please see the Milano color chart. We can also personalize any rooting when requested.

Do you have a topper or wig with a side bang?

All our toppers and wigs can be personalized to your desired style. Once your order is placed a customer service representative will contact you for a picture of your desired style.

Does the listed price come with balayage or rooting in the base price? Or do you have to select those services for extra?

With the premium processed hair we offer a dark brown balayage and medium brown balayage. If you want a color personalized further you can add a color service to achieve your desired look. However, there is an added charge when adding color service.

If I buy a wig online can I take it to the salon to get it cut?

Yes. You would need to schedule an appointment and additional charges will apply for cutting services.

Is there any possible service you offer to chemically straighten your wigs?

We offer keratin treatments that restore the natural shine and smooth the hair cuticles. This service is non damaging. It starts at $150.

What’s the difference between “natural rooting” and “medium brown rooting”?

A natural rooting is usually a smudge root that is natural in technique. It mimics what your hair would look like after going to the salon. A medium brown rooting is a color that we can achieve. We can achieve any color rooting. We do require a picture of the color you are looking for so we can determine the technique and color tone to achieve your desired look.

What services do you offer?

Milano offers many personalizations to achieve your desired look. This includes cap adjustments, secure linings, color services, and cuts. We feel that the finishing touches make all the difference in giving that natural look.

Will the colorist call me about my wig order?

When a color service is chosen for a wig order a customer service representative will email you requesting pictures of your desired color. The stylist will review the picture and any notes that are emailed. Once everything is confirmed they will begin the color services. If there needs to be any clarification the stylist will contact you prior to beginning color services.

What if I wanted a custom cut?

Our stylists are trained in all wig cuts. Please choose the cut option by the product. A customer service representative will email you requesting pictures of your desired cut. Once the pictures are provided, a stylist will be assigned to your order and review the pictures and notes before cutting.

What is the density of your wig and toppers?

Skin top wigs & toppers are approximately 125% density, lace wigs & toppers are approximately 100% density, princess and ponytail styles are approximately 105% density.

How do I get the look that I found on Instagram?

Do You Perform Color Services On Non-Milano Wigs?

Yes. We have a team of expert wig stylists. A test strand is always perforned before starting color services to make sure the hair can achieve the desired result.

Can You Add Hair On A Wig That Is Balding Or Missing Hair On Certain Areas?

Yes. Milano has a team of wig alteration specialists that can perform many wig alterations including cap adjustments Milano does not repair lace top wigs from other manufacturers.

Do you still use Nomi color?

No, the Nomi color has been discontinued. The closest color to this is the golden blond with a reverse balayage.

How Much Is It To Add Hair?

Adding hair involves many variables. When ventilating or adding one hair at a time it can get expensive since it is a specialized service. Hand-tied hair can range from $75-$300. Hair wefts can also be added. The price depends on the amount of wefts added, and can vary from $35 and up. A quote is always provided and approved by you before we start any services.

How Do I Know What Color Services I Need To Get The Look I Want?

Personalizing your look can require multiple services. Milano has a team of trained customer service representatives that can assist you. Please contact customer service at cs@mcwigs.com the color look you are looking for, and we can advise on the best process to achieve this look.

What should I choose as my base color if I am adding color services?

When adding highlights/balayage or a lightening service it is best to choose a base color that is a shade darker than your normal base. In this way once the color service is performed, the overall look will not be too light

I never mailed a wig in before for color. What is your process to make sure it gets done correctly?

It is recommended to add your contact info and all personalizations you would like. A customer service will read all the notes and contact you to discuss the look you are going for. All services are approved by you before starting.

Can I bring my wig to a hair stylist to cut/color?
arrow-icon

It is recommended to bring your wig/topper to an experienced wig stylist. There are many nuances between hair and wigs so experience on wigs is definitely recommended to avoid any mishaps

What is a zigzag lace front?
arrow-icon

All our skin top wigs come with a lace front. Lace fronts allow a natural, seamless edge in the front of a wig. It allows you to wear a wig styled back, down, or with a bang and still look natural. Milano lace fronts are reinforced with clear thread to avoid stretching and tearing. It does not require trimming to achieve this natural look.

Shipping FAQs

How long will it take for my order to ship to me? arrow-icon

Once an order is placed please allow 3-5 business days for processing time. Please add an additional week if a personalized color services or alterations is requested. If the item you ordered is oversold there may be a further delay in processing time. A customer service representative will reach out to you and offer other suitable options. If not options are available they will provide an estimated delivery date.

Why is my tracking number invalid? arrow-icon

Do you ship via UPS or FedEx? arrow-icon

Milano Collection uses both UPS and USPS for shipping. A tracking number is always generated for secure shipping.

Is there anyway to get overnight delivery? arrow-icon

Yes! At checkout there is an option for expedited delivery. Overnight means that once the order is processed and all the personalizations requested are completed it will be overnighted. However, it is limited to speeding up the shipping time not the processing time.

Is the shipping box discreet? arrow-icon

Yes! We understand that this is a personal matter and we tried to make the outside box as discreet as possible. The product will arrive in a brown box labeled "Milano." The word "wig" is not listed outside the box.

If I request Express Shipping, when will I receive my order? arrow-icon

Express Shipping speeds up the delivery time once your order is ready to ship. The 3 - 5 business day processing time applies to all orders. Any service customizations including salon services and cap size adjustments add an additional 5 - 7 business days to the processing time.If the customer service team has any questions regarding your order they will reach out to you by phone or email. 

Are wigs ready to ship out immediately? arrow-icon

Once your order has been placed your selected wig is inspected to ensure that it conforms to our highest quality standards. We then send it to our professional styling team to have it styled according to your order preferences. This process takes 3 - 5 business days. Cut, color and cap adjustments usually take 3 - 7 additional business days to complete. Accessories ordered with your wig order will ship together with your new wig. Tracking information is emailed once your wig has been inspected, packed and ready to ship. 

Does Milano Collection ship internationally? arrow-icon

Yes, Milano Collection ships worldwide. Depending on the shipping service you select at checkout it takes anywhere from 2 - 14 business days to arrive.Tracking information will be emailed once it is available using a reputable international courier. Shipping costs are door to door, however, any local custom duties and tax are not included in the cost of the item or the shipping charges. You will be contacted by your local courier office should there be any addition payment for taxes and duties required.
