Happy 2021 Milano Babes!

With every new year the team at Milano Collection celebrate with our annual wig color trend report. Spice up your wig for the new year with color services that are transformative and easy to maintain.

Our team of expert wig stylists share the biggest 2021 hair color trends for wigs below:

Trend 1: Money Pieces

The Money Piece wig color trend you have to try in 2021!

Also known as face-framing highlights, money piece hair is a popular coloring technique that is achieved when you get the front strands of your wig bleached to a brighter and lighter shade. The finished result leaves you with face-framing ‘money pieces’ that add dimension to your wig and help brighten and lift your complexion. Unlike chunky highlights this technique is seamless and can look more natural, depending on your preferences.

If you’re thinking of cashing in and trying this low-maintenance wig look for yourself now or for 2021, here are our favorite money-piece wig looks by Milano stylist _______.

Trend 2: Balayage

Balayage in both hair and human hair wigs have been trending for some time amongst celebrities. A balayage mimics a natural progression of hair with the roots being the darkest and tips being the lightest. On wigs, balayage usual means adding the lightest shades to your human hair wig to create dimension and pops of color through a hand-painted technique, resulting in that sun-kissed, melted look.

Trend 3: Reverse Balage

Reverse balayage is also a hot trend in the hair world and is highly sought after amongst our clients as well for their human hair wigs. It’s a great way to deepen your color or freshen up your highlight and transition to a more natural look. A reverse balayage adds a darker depth by the rooting and darker highlights in between the already lightened hair to give that added depth of color and make those highlights or lighter dimension really pop.   Adding darker dimensions and depth by the roots can be the perfect way to freshen up your color. Think of highlights as adding lighter pops of dimensions and lowlights as adding darker depth.

Trend 4: Rouge Reds

Inspired by the popular Netflix show The Queens Gambit, rouge red shades are all the rage these days in the wig and hair world. This bright, warm, fiery red color is stunning on many skintones and works particularly well to balance out pink undertones in someone with fair skin.  You can also opt for more natural shades of cinnamon if you want to go red but don’t want to overcommit yourself to the maintenance or red hair.

Trend 5: Ashy Mushroom and Silver Shades

We’ve spent a lot of time talking about warm, golden tones in 202 but this year ash-blonde hair is trending! If you love a cool-toned blondes this is the year to consider a wig makeover. There’s about a million ways to rock ash blonde hair from subtle ash blondes to dark mushroom-inspired tones.

A step up from ash-blonde, you’ll find silver wig color trending. Many celebrities and social media influencers have already jumped on the gray and silver smokes hair trend.  Silvery grey wigs offer an edgy alternative to take ash tones to the next level.
